In case, some did not notice, the main difference between BN and PR as opposition parties, the former in some states while the latter, at the federal level as well as in the other states, is the power over federal institutions like the Police and MACC.
BN controls both federal institutions which are now targeting the PR representatives. PR representatives can only criticize the government of the day, and in most cases, did not get the publicity in the mainstream media like TV, radio and newspapers. Fortunately, with the internet, PR is able to get news to more people even by way of articles printed from the net. But, if the Police and MACC would not take action, criticisms are just that, without any effect on the problems in hand.
On the other hand, BN as state oppositions, can use the Police and MACC to continue to harass the PR representatives over relatively small matters and amounts. I am not suggesting that they overlook them, but just be fair. How can it be justifiable to overlook cases involving billions and concentrate on thousands, if not, only hundreds of ringgit with full publicity for maximum effect? The police's handling of the cow-head incident was glaring in their velvet glove approach, and confirmed by none other than the Home Minister!
With the constant harassment, the PR representatives in the states they rule will naturally be affected when carrying out their duties. Then, BN would turn round and criticize them for not being efficient!
