How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Paul Ponnudorai not from Batu Gajah? Update...

Never met the guitar genius before but heard so much about him, and somehow, I was told he was from Batu Gajah! At the moment, I have yet to check with local friends about this apparent incorrect information which I had been passing round. Nobody corrected me, including Dr. Lim, who organized St. Joseph Church's fund-raising dinner recently, who had tried to get him to play for the event. Even my sister-in-law, when I asked if she knew Paul said she had seen him play in a school event, which was why I could not believe initially, the fact that he was only 51, as their age difference made it incredible. But Paul was in fact a talented guitarist at a very young age!

Two well known bloggers have links to some of his videos, including one with Time magazine's write-up on him:

This morning, I asked a retired teacher, Peter Wong about Paul, and he confirmed Paul was from MTD, Batu Gajah, and that his father was a dresser at the hospital. Peter's impression of Paul's father was that of a childhood fear of the injections! Because Peter was from MTD as well, he said he knows their old house used to be next to a pond! So I was right after all.

Hi Uncle KS, not sure if my first comment made it to your post, but I was asking which "sister in law" is being referenced that knows this guy?

The youngest, even that, the age difference of 9 seem improbable... unless in Form 6 when Paul was only 10? Just for the sake of accuracy, I need to confirm this.
