How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

TM = Tak Mampu atau Tak Mahu berkhidmat?

Wednesday night was another of those 'no internet connection' which seems to happen with regularity every few weeks. I called up TM to complain and though the Malay lady was friendly, she could only put on record my complaint to be attended to by a technician within 24 hours. She could not help laughing when I told her that I perceive the disruptions in service was because I have been too critical of BN! This time, unlike past few instances of disruption in service, my friend who lives nearby was not affected.

Thursday morning, I received a call from a TM technician asking if I would be in later. He said he will call again before he comes. Got a text message from TM at 10.23am: 'Dear Valued Customer, svc restoration in progress & expected to be resolved by 04/07/12'! Was it supposed to be April 7 or 4 July? Fortunately, service was restored in the afternoon on Thursday itself, again without any visit from the technician. As I have mentioned before, the problem had nothing to do with my settings, and what TM giveth, TM taketh at will. Can I be blamed for being cynical about the unreliable service?

Note: As if in retaliation of my post at 1.03 am, my internet was disconnected while I was on skype, messaging with a friend! The time shown was 1.40 am when I switched off my computer.
