Cheng and I were having a simple dinner of salt baked chicken when we noticed a vehicle drove past our house to the dead end. Then I heard car door slammed shut and the car was on its way out. We saw someone at the gate. We were not expecting anybody and it could be someone asking for direction, or a surprise visit which is common in Malaysia.
I opened the front door and without my glasses, could not make out who. Then the man said, 'It's Dominik' while the taxi driver waited for a while to see if he got the right house before driving off.
Just imagine... Dominik came without informing us!
Later, I got a call from my son who asked cheekily whether it was a big surprise. I wondered how he knew... and he said Dominik asked him on Facebook on how to get here from KLIA. A call from him earlier was to check that we were at home.
Apparently Dominik is on transit from Shanghai to Poland.
I was not in the right frame of mind because I was in the middle of clearing my messy computer table. I was hoping to have two tables but wife seems to be agreeable to only one. There is always a problem of space.
Then Cheng said she is going to take him to Rapat Setia for coffee! She said there is no place to have good coffee in BG and I felt upset at that comment, mainly because of the long distance just to have a cuppa. Why not a nearer place? She has never driven the Mother Trucker and I always have the impression she is not familiar with the routes to Ipoh. So it was a relief when I heard the car outside the gate. I forgot both my daughters had driven the old Pajero before, unlike some drivers who are at ease only with smaller cars, preferably with auto transmission.
