How should we judge a government?
In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!
"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain
Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham
"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Prelude to Hari Raya
The orignal post was via my handphone. I did not wish to interrupt the Hari Raya mood shown by the two Malay musicians, in this picture taken with the boss of the shop.
He said he was expecting me last week when there were some good musicians around. But it was the usual case of either no one to take over or too many wanting to play. I brought two CDs for just in case, but seeing them playing Malay songs which suit the festive air, I chose not to spoil their mood. In fact, a couple actually danced for a few minutes!
With the enthusiasm of the boss, this 'jam session' is likely to be a regular feature of the Ipoh Sunday market, and with that, more musicians will make it a point to jam. I can say goodbye to 'drumaoke' for now!
