How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Desperate parker needs desperate measures...

when you have the will, you will have the way:

Ludicrous!

In Malaysia, there is no need for such extreme antics. Just double or even triple park, and when you hear incessant honking, just look out if you happened to be the problem. I am unable to do that. To me, parking properly would ensure peace of mind, which is invaluable. I would rather walk further if necessary.

That reminds me, when an old friend (ex-classmate) from KL came to stay at Heritage Hotel, Ipoh. He invited me for a drink and encouraged me to simply park along the road, in front of the hotel, off Jalan Tambun, and even suggested that if I got a ticket, just give it to him. It was around 10 pm, and I did that against my better judgement. When I got back, I got a ticket which made me Rm40 poorer! For a born loser, it was a case of just once, and I would get it and I got it.
