How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

The funny, familiar, forgotten feeling is back...

Yes, the magician is back. Then, Radhzi quits PKR (but wants to retain his Exco post – some people has no shame in them). Rohaizat’s partner suddenly blames himself for all the firm’s trouble (you mean, the Bar Council got it wrong?…serious indeed). Deja vue a la Perak.

Personally (and hopefully there are many others like me), I would like all those who wish to leave, to leave now, so that we can have only sincere people going for a change for the better. I always maintain that to be a State Assemblyman or Member of Parliament is already an achievement. To be an Exco member is an added responsibility. For anyone, especially an unknown, to leave this position, I need to be better convinced that he is not going for wealth from an obviously richer incumbent federal party.

I sincerely hope Permatang Pasir results would show the continuing trend for change. Let them have more froggies until the next General Elections. We need them to keep us going for a big change.

I am disappointed with mankind.

The Whale has got more feelings:

A female humpback whale had become entangled in a spider web of crab traps and lines.

She was weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat. She also had hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her body, her tail, her torso, a line tugging in her mouth.

A fisherman spotted her just east of the Faralon Islands (outside the Golden Gate ) and radioed for help.

Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so bad off, the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her -- a very dangerous proposition. One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.

They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her.

When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles. She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, nudged them, and pushed gently, thanking them. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.

The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him the whole time, and he will never be the same.

It can certainly be said that some animals have more humanity and gratitude than some humans.
