It had to do with politics, nothing to do with Ketuanan Melayu.
Our PM had to deal with a handful of hecklers at an event in London recently. The hecklers chose a wrong time to do so. If they expected others to support them, they were disappointed. Most of those present were organizers and invited guests. If students or government officials, most of them were ferried from all over UK, at our government's expense. Our Malaysian High Commission would have ensured nothing embarrassing would happen, or at least, not prolong.
As a comparison and contrast, I re-visited my letter to Malaysiakini, five years ago. In the case of an event involving Anwar (with several international personalities), Malaysian student organizers were given a hard time by our Malaysian Students Department.
My letter to Malaysiakini in 2007...
Don't patronise our varsity students

Last Sunday, at Seri Iskandar, I noticed a big poster of our Menteri Besar with big letters screaming out 'RAKYAT TIADA DIPINGIRKAN' (if I remember correctly) which means 'the people won't be left out' (if I understand it correctly). My immediate reaction was my imaginary 'HANYA ORANG YANG SOKONG PEMBANGKANG' or 'Except those who support the Opposition' which should follow.
There is no change at all, as far as our political situation is concerned, the latest being Anwar, Azmin and Chegu Bard being charged for being involved in the recent Bersih 3.0 rally.
By the way, Rais can really count! He said there were only 22,270 participants at the rally and not as claimed by the organizers and the opposition. Just looking at the figure, I can tell him not to bullshit with such an accurate figure. Probably he should be counting rice instead.
