How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

Bersih 3.0 Rally a coup attempt? Preposterous!

Preposterous (adjective) means 'contrary to reason or common sense; utterly absurd or ridiculous'; Synonyms: absurd, nonsensical, ludicrous, ridiculous, and senseless.

I would say that it is unbelievable that our police is investigating along this line, presumably as suggested by BN leaders. They must be running out of ideas to consider this as a way of countering the public's dissatisfaction of the electoral system, so well demonstrated in a spontaneous manner during the massive rally. Only the BN-controlled mainstream media show otherwise, and we all know their credibility is at the lowest.

It is safe to say that to equate Bersih with Pakatan is to give the latter too much credit, with some people even complaining that they have hijacked the rally for their own agenda. But Bersih's demands for electoral reforms which basically seek free and fair election should have been lauded and supported by all. Pakatan leaders supported Bersih simply because they share the same belief that our electoral system leaves much to be desired. That BN finds it unacceptable is understandable if they hope to continue to rule through cheating at the general election. I just cannot see any other reason for opposing such universally acceptable demands for a true democracy.

We shall see how the investigation into an imaginary coup attempt will play out in the near future.

It is however true to say that almost everyone at Bersih 3.0 would see the current government toppled.

Also we are all aware that with clean and fair elections, BN would be swept away.

So in a way the accusations are true. But, so what.

A lighter side to the whole affair!
Two guys at Bersih are fast becoming legendary (for very different reasons). Check it out
