How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

NFC enhances convenience in payments

My friend sent me this email:

"I've got a Paypal account here, connected to CIMB, after consulting my good friend, TK, on it.

This PayPal of mine holds my money in US$, since I use it to buy or donate to the apps I get from the smartphone apps market .

The consoling thing about us 1st generation or early users of smartphones who have no NFC in our devices, is knowing that we can still buy using PayPal online.  Not that it's here in M'sia yet, but when it does, we'll be ready.  A paper cashless form...

And as much favorably reported here, it's still a bit of hassle compared to NFC payments.  So if we do dump our old smartphones, and get a new one, it better be one with NFC (iPhone 5, and all the current latest Androids).  Or buy an NFC-enhanced SIM card which is also coming very fast - just pull out your old, and plug in your new NFC-enhanced SIM.  Voila!!!  Whichever is cheaper!

So, for all ye PayPal holders, rejoice when it comes to M'sia.  Me, I can still use PayPal or my new-to-be NFC smartphone sometime next year, haha!!"
