How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Why I am interested in PAS election for Deputy post

I am rooting for Husam to win, for the simple reason that he is against talks with Umno.

I am most disappointed with Hadi Awang’s involvement in talks with Umno for a unity government, simply because Umno cannot have the cake and eat it.

We have come a long way since March 2008 and it would be back to square one if we gave up our struggle for a clean and transparent government.

Umno had more than 50 years of rule, and has proven to be corrupt and inefficient. What we need is an alternative government for a change.

Give Pakatan a chance and if not proven to be capable or clean, then kick them out. But, Pakatan should be given a chance by the people, not a compromise where nothing much will change.

Well, we will have to see whether the PAS leadership values the present arrangement more. It is better to get those with the same aim than those who pretend to be.

'Once bitten twice shy' is appropriate in this situation and any loss of trust will be difficult to win back.
