This is an example of how an ordinary trader is at the mercy of government officials, which in a way made me cynical and explains why I do not believe when cronies say they made big without being close to the leaders. Patrick Saw's letter to Malaysiakini expresses despair:
Ministry personnel going berserk over T-shirt images
Got this link from Khoo Kay Peng's site:

T-shirts with the following messages were deemed obscene, subversive or glorifying communism:
Probably, according to my guess, glorifying communism:
Mao Walk
Mao Tais
Maori (pic of him in Maori attire)
Chairman Meow
The Mao, the merrier
Mickey Maos
Mighty Maos
Rolling Stones gather no Maos
Malaysia is fresh from heightened controversies over whether to let Chin Peng, the acknowledged head of former Communist Party of Malaya, return to his homeland.
The irony was the fact that our PM confirmed that he should not be allowed back, and soon after, he visited China officially, the grandmother of all communists, and was so proud to have done so! Just imagine if China were to say, “Sorry, being the son of Razak, you are not welcome!”
Deemed obscene?:
Goldman Sucks (as in Goldman Sach)
Starsucks (as in Starbucks)
Cock, ah; I also got mah! (with our famous Ayam brand)
Up the Arsenal (with the English Football Club’s logo)
7 inches (like 7 Eleven logo)
Stand out in a crowd Viagra (picture of a protruding rod among a crowd)
Just did it (myself) (with a sperm in the shape of Nike’s tick)
Naked inside (like Intel’s logo)
Fook (with a Chinese character for Luck) to you too!
Stupidity (on police part): Kissing ass (picture of man kissing donkey)
Smart ass (picture of donkey with a mortarboard)
I think the police are getting paranoid, judging from their recent actions like arresting small group of people having a candlelight vigil; arresting Chin Huat for calling on people to wear black; actually arresting people wearing black on a certain day in Perak; arresting people about to have a fast as a form of protest; and the latest being confiscating T-shirts of a shop in the Central Market in KL, with the so-called unacceptable messages!
Can’t imagine a PM educated in Nottingham University, UK, having such narrow-minded policies.
