Beneath the calm, a hidden force rages...
In our tropical climate, heavy downpours are common and flash floods cause traffic nightmare in cities and towns. We have abundant natural water, so it does not make sense that Selangor needs to import water from neighbouring Pahang. We refuse to consider the options of educating our people to be thrifty in the use of water and to use methods of water conservation. Our mindset is always, 'Ah! There is a need. Good, think of a big project... the bigger the better.' We need to stimulate the economy, otherwise our contractors will have no jobs. We need to support the supporters to support us.
I wish there will come a time in our political scenario, when politicians get their support from people for being truly for the people, instead of having to dish out contracts for them to make money and then use the money to support the politicians.
How should we judge a government?
In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!
"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain
Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham
"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan
