How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

I'm tired of being principled...

when dealing with unscrupulous people.

For bullies, they should be mindful of the phrase 'don't do unto others what you don't want others do unto you'. There is a limit as to how much the victims can put up with the nonsense thrown at them without retaliation.

There are those who fit the description, 'Lord of all that he surveys' and feel that 'what is mine is mine, and what is yours is also mine', without giving a thought about common decency and natural justice. Ignore them and they take you for fools, and it is not going to work because they would keep mocking you for a response.

Time to take matters into your own hands like how Uncle Lee would. For more please read http://moonlightnightsstarryskies.blogspot.com/2011/07/my-house-was-marked-for-robbery.html

Your irritating neighbour again, SK?

Yes, the recalcitrant serial killer... of my plants. Got back from KL last Sunday past midnight, saw the bougainvilla which was cut on CNY day, but with new branches and flowers grown since then, had its roots dug out to ensure it would not survive! Imagine, it was on our side of the drain, yet this thick-skinned busybody did it again like what he did to a palm much earlier.

On Valentine's Day, this villain planted six 6-inch nails round his oil drum to ensure any vehicle which goes near would get its tyre punctured. After I have pulled them out, there was another obscure single nail which was even more scary. Now we know who was responsible for a student's car which was punctured and another which had all 4 tyres deflated.

It would appear that your neighbour is an anti-social guy who relishes in doing harm to others. When his day comes, the retribution is not going to be something I would want to see.

Sorry for the typo in the last comment. You are KS, of course!
