How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Was I shot at?

Don't really know but I felt like it. We were on our way back from KL. As we had intended to have dinner in Kampar, we had to exit the NSE at Tapah. It was around 7.30 pm and as I turned to join the exit road, I heard a loud bang right in front of me. It took a few seconds before the cracks appeared on the bottom of the windscreen. Because the windscreen was textured black a few inches at the bottom part as well as on the top part of the screen, nothing could be seen from inside. When we arrived at the restaurant in Kampar, I took a look at the cause of the cracks and it seems like one caused by a bullet, possibly from an air rifle because it did not penetrate through, just 0.3 cm deep.

Again, it set me wondering why it happened. Two things unusual seemed to have made it happen at that moment in time. I had to detour from Bangsar to Amcorp Mall because SP wanted to buy a specific magazine. Since I joined the Federal Highway, I decided to join NSE at Subang interchange. But I saw a sign to Subang Jaya, without mention of Subang Airport and I missed it, though I have travelled that way several times before. I continued and it led me to the toll booth which I had to pay Rm1.10 to continue. Saw a NSE sign with Ipoh on it and it led me to Guthrie Corridor Expressway instead. I have travelled before and knew it leads to NSE after three tolls of Rm1.40 each which I didn't like, especially the hassle. Then, while on the way, SP suggested that we have dinner in Kampar, well before we reach the Tapah exit. It was when I turned into the exit road that I was 'shot at'. Had I continued and exited at Gopeng like we normally do, it would not have happened. But it had to happen, like everything else which was meant to be.
