How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Nissan Navara windscreen replacement

I got a shock when I called up Tan Chong for a quote: Rm3,300 windscreen from OEM in Thailand, inclusive of labour charges. I called up a windscreen specialist in KL and was quoted Rm400 for a laminated one made in Malaysia. I have checked with a local spare parts shop and the friend quoted me Rm350 for one, also laminated, made in Thailand. i expect labour charges to be at least Rm250. It is worth shopping around to save some money during hard times, isn't it. But as they say, it pours when raining... just had a lightning strike which blew my notebook. Now I am using one old Twinhead notebook with lots of contraints: cannot download newer versions of anything and Microsoft warns of closing the window. What I am typing now cannot be erased nor deleted in the editing process, so I have to be careful and go round it. Time for a new one, but the stock prices plummeted... sigh.Link
