All signs point towards it, in my humble opinion.
Bersih and its rally have been declared illegal. Rightly or wrongly, Home Minister has the power to do so. He insists they are still subject to his earlier decision despite the King's intervention which basically recognize, if not legitimize the coalition. Prime Minister also insists that it is up to the police to carry out their duties, which he basically shirks from his duty and power to put right what many consider as harsh, or at least to give some respect to the King. He has even decided that foreign relations is more important than our country's internal problems which many of us consider as crucial in the current confusion. Some pessimists even predict an uprising if not properly handled.
KL is now practically off-limits, to all intent and purposes, not only to those 91 (90, if Dr Zubir Harun has been included twice according to Din Merican) listed. The people are already confused by conflicting statements made at different times by different leaders. The police is now empowered to arrest and detain just about anyone they wish on July 9. Some of them could not wait to exercise their authority and power over defenceless citizens. More important, opposition leaders listed, like Anwar Ibrahim, Azmin Ali, Hadi Awang, Nik Aziz, Lim Kit Siang and others could be arrested according to the law, and it is up to the Home Minister to decide whether to detain them under ISA or EO if he so wishes. Can you imagine how vulnerable the opposition is at this juncture?
What we have seen so far suggest anything could be decided by the powers that be, merely unjust and unfair actions would be surprising. None of the other coalition party leaders seem to be involved, not a squeak from them. Are they responsible for what could be considered collective decision when things go wrong?
A worst case scenario for the opposition is when all the top leaders are being detained during a general election. Could it be possible?
