How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Talk about fresh elections in Perak

General opinions among the public suggest that within Barisan Nasional, Umno has more to lose if there are to be state elections which explains their reluctance to go back to the people. On the other hand, the MCA has a lone ranger in Dr. Mah, so the worst case scenario is the loss of one seat, but the loss of face is greater in not having state representation for the first time in history! For Gerakan and MIC, there is nothing more to lose! You cannot go lower than rock bottom.

With the much speculated Rm25million (according to Raja Petra's story) spent on Hee, will they ask for the money back? Anyway, almost everyone believe she will not be fielded again because of the backlash from her cross-over, a betrayal of sorts to her former party comrades. The two ex-PKR, ex-Exco members might have to face the music in the courts, since nothing seems to work according to plan. A lot would depend on how the people involved take it, but I wouldn't want to be in their shoes!

No true, KS. They can go back to the polls and get trounced even harder than before!

That would be rubbing salt into their wounds, which they are still licking now!

Yes, you're right. What they need is something more obvious because they still did not get the message yet.
