So predictable, yet so disgusting...

that BN resorted to show of might is right, regardless of the people's expectations and feelings. It was arrogance right from the beginning and even the rightful position of the Speaker of the State Assembly at the sitting meant nothing to them. Any obstacle can easily be removed, if necessary, even physically as what we have witnessed. There is a picture of a group of 'Pegawai' in Anil Netto's blog who were ready for the purpose.

At a dinner, a doctor took out a Rm10 and placed it on the table to bet that the two ex-PKR representatives will get off from the corruption charges. That is the perception of the people. I have copied excerpts of two letters from Malaysiakini which sum up the general feelings of the public:

It is so abundantly clear that what the rakyat want is not what the rakyat gets.

Who do the three turncoats in the Perak state assembly represent? The people who voted them in or the Barisan Nasional? If the people who voted them into power wanted the BN, they would have voted BN but it is very clear that the rakyat on March 8 2008 sent the Barisan a clear message, ‘Out you go, and we want change,'.

With all this in place Umno's Nasaruddin Hashim's defection was the Trojan Horse so to speak. With that crossover, the head of Perak Umno decided to hand in his resignation and take the blame for the cross over of Nasaruddin.

His resignation as state Umno head paved the way for Najib to take on the role of Perak Umno chief, a position he required to steer the entire exercise to completion.

Najib played the big role of seeing the Sultan but what had Najib to do with the affairs of a duly elected assembly? He had no business there as this was a Perak issue; it was for the members of the assembly to sort out.

And rightfully it was for the menteri besar to sort out but from what went on, it looked like Najib called the shots and the rest is history. It was the beginning of what happened yesterday.

Now I sit back and ask, is this how elections in Malaysia are won? Do our votes mean only that, that they can be bought over by money and might?

But what is the real issue of all this mayhem? Well, it is simply that BN claims to have the majority of state assembly persons in the Perak assembly (31) and the Pakatan has now only 28 members.

However, it is not as simple as that. Why? Because:

1. The courts have not ruled whether the resignation of the three ‘frogs' was legitimate or not (meaning, if it is not legitimate, then BN would not have a majority); and

2. The courts have not ruled who is the official menteri besar of Perak; and

3. The courts have not completed hearing the two corruption cases face by two of the ‘frogs' (meaning if they are found guilty, there could be two more by-elections and that means BN would not have a majority).

What will the courts decide? Any decently-informed Malaysian will tell you who the judiciary will favour! Are we all mind readers and fortune-tellers? Of course not! But the fact that the Zambry and his BN goons are claiming to have the majority without waiting for the courts' decision just proves that either:

1. The judiciary is biased towards the BN; or
2. They just don't care what the courts say?

Which is the correct answer? That I leave that to you!

So why are the Umno people is in such a rush to gain power? The answer is because they think they still can bully their way into power like in the past. They think a bribe here, a bribe there, an intimidation here, a blackmail there and they will get what they want.
