How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Batu Gajah Sentral...

clearly an admission of poor planning (was it deliberate by vested interests?) of the present bus station which is mainly occupied by clothes sellers and you do not see any buses within) and the present 'new' railway station (built few years ahead of actual use and 2 km away from main Tg Tualang road near the town centre).

For more than a year since my petition for a stop at the old station (to correct the inconvenient and insecure location), it looks like the proposed BG Sentral will be the answer instead! By the way, this so-called hub is just as far from the town centre as the railway station! Unless it is meant to serve mainly the students of SYS (Primary) and St. Bernadette Convent (Primary and Secondary).

Hamidah pointed out that currently the town bus station only provided express bus service while the taxi drivers operated from under a bridge at the heart of town.

"The new facility will help to solve this situation and create a one-stop centre for all public transport users," she said.

Batu Gajah Rented Car Operators Association secretary D. Gopal stated that the town's 23 taxi drivers have operated under the town bridge for more than 10 years.

"Since the railway station was moved two kilometres away in Kg Pisang, it has been harder for us to earn a living as passengers rarely passed through the town.

"Hopefully, this new terminal will centralise the passengers and create more business opportunities for us," he said.
