Suggested roadsigns for the road to Parliament House, after dissolution...
So now Najib is officially our caretaker PM... please take care... not to do anything you are not supposed to. But our tolerance levels have been well tested for over half a century, and that is, we are very tolerant people, unlike in India where even official cars cannot be simply used. Over here in Bolehland, caretakers behaved like owners, even during campaign periods before general elections. We can expect the same from them, with no objections from those supposed to keep an eye on them.
This morning at breakfast, a friend got a call from his daughter, informing him that Najib is going to announce dissolution of parliament. I am surprised at the need for such urgency in information. To me, it is more of a 'So what?' if PM is going to announce dissolution. The couple actually made sure they were back in time to watch it on television! All it entails is that PM and his cabinet ministers will become caretakers and we know from experience, there will be no difference in the way they behave! Then we have to wait for an announcement of the chosen date for General Election from the Election Commission. We all know the incumbents have all the advantage to choose the right day, preferably when inconvenient to the opposition, and with campaign period as short as possible. BN has all the advantages of control over the mainstream media and the provision of 10-minute air time for each party must have been the biggest joke in the world!
The opposition has to rely on the internet, and knowing the people now have very short attention spans, the following graphic by Martin Jalleh for example, is often used to catch the attention of the people...
