It could be part of a bigger scheme of things to create trouble: the appointment could lead to actions taken by MB which could be unpopular to the people, or as suspected, the appointee could be a mole within which would at least create suspicions at every turn.
We have just had the open verdict of the coroner in the Teoh Beng Hock's case. As a result of the public uproar over the 'not a suicide and not a homicide' (someone actually commented that it means he should still be alive!), the PM and cabinet have decided to have a Royal Commission of Inquiry, but limited to checking on the investigation procedures of MACC! In other words, at the end of the Inquiry, we already know the best we could get is that certain procedures were wrong or correct procedures were carried out excessively, or something to that effect. Just like the 'open verdict' of the Inquest which anybody could have guessed correctly.
The family of the late Teoh Beng Hock wanted justice, but our PM and other decision-makers insisted on beating around the bush instead of finding the culprits directly responsible for his death. If the RCI of Anwar's black eye could reveal the then IGP as the guilty party, the scope of TBH's RCI should also be widened so that it could reveal the real culprits too. But do they care?
I wonder if those who were responsible for the death of Teoh Beng Hock, as well as those who could have made a difference between a whitewash and a thorough investigation but did not do the necessary, could sleep well. Maybe there are indeed people without conscience.
