How should we judge a government?

In Malaysia, if you don't watch television or read newspapers, you are uninformed; but if you do, you are misinformed!

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience - Mark Twain

Why we should be against censorship in a court of law: Publicity is the very soul of justice … it keeps the judge himself, while trying, under trial. - Jeremy Bentham

"Our government is like a baby's alimentary canal, with a happy appetite at one end and no
responsibility at the other. " - Ronald Reagan

Politics of vindictiveness

This Higher Education Minister has the mentality of a local bully...

Minister confirms freezing PTPTN loans to Unisel

While Pakatan proposes free higher education, unless and until they win the next general election, it is just a proposal. Education is under Federal control, so is Finance. Does it mean the people in Selangor can opt not to pay income taxes?

DBKL refused permission to erect tents for a Pakatan event...
Surat Dr. Idris bin Ahmad kepada Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur

If this is not being vindictive I do not know what is.

Barisan Nasional stands to lose favour with such childish behaviour. The irony of the federal territory of KL is that 10 out of 11 parliamentary seats were won by Pakatan. Since then, Wee Choo Keong opted out to become an Independent MP, friendly to BN. Yet, everything is under the control of the Mayor of KL who is appointed by BN Federal Territories Minister. The recent Bersih 3.0 rally had shown how an unfriendly Mayor could decide to have Merdeka Square off limits by a court order.
