First non-contesting MCA President in a GE

MCA is seen as increasingly irrelevant because of its race-based platform; being ineffectual in carrying out any meaningful reform; and obviously subservient to Umno. As a component party within BN, it is deemed complicit in all the wrongs master-minded by Umno. Certainly by being silent is taken as acquiescence and there is not much good in all talk and no action.
