On our way to the north, we dropped by Le Velo in Canning Garden, for their Grand Opening. The specialist bicycle shop is in a house converted for commercial use, on Lebuh Cecil Rae, across the road from Hollywood coffee shop. Buffet, music and DJs for both Cantonese and English were provided for the occasion.We were most impressed with the range of imported mountain and road bikes (eg. Robaix brand) as well as the latest equipment like the one used for measuring a person's physical size to custom fit his bike.
Anyway, on our way out, a properly attired cyclist rode in, making a grand entrance befitting the occasion. But the most outstanding detail which caught everyone's attention was the fact that the cyclist is one-legged, with the other leg (from below his knee) like a bionic one. Someone commented that it would be nice if he was asked to open the shop!
