Husam Musa surprised by Putrajaya's warm reception

Datuk Husam Musa admitted today his surprise that Putrajaya folks were undaunted to approach and be seen with a Pakatan Rakyat (PR) candidate as he went on his first walk-about here.

The PAS vice-president, who was named candidate on Tuesday, held his maiden event in the city last night and visited Putrajaya folks today to introduce himself and hear their grouses.

“I was happy, because from their body language ... I was surprised, before this I thought civil servants are afraid, but turned out they are braver than me,” Husam told reporters here.

Husam said he had refrained himself from sitting down for a chat with civil servants for fear it will endanger their careers, but the opposite happened as they approached him instead.

Tengku Adnan must be worried. Though there is a perception about civil servants following orders without question, there is always the first time when they might want to prove something else. Politicians come and go, civil servants remain wherever they are.
