Check to see if your voter registration has any of these problems

Check your voter registration at this link: http://daftarj.spr.gov.my/semakpru13.aspx

... to see if the details are correct, and note down your voting centre to prevent last minute confusion on election day. Vote wisely!

Like an old record, I have been mentioning about how I discovered my address was changed many years ago, without my doing and knowledge, to a Malay village called Kg Sungei Terap, Batu Gajah.

Initially, it did not occur to me that such thing could happen, partly due to ignorance and also it was not so convenient as now when we can check online. I am sure many people were like me, just go and vote where you were told! So I voted in 1999 and 2004 in the parliamentary constituency of Gopeng and state constituency of Sungai Rapat. I managed to change to my original address before 2004 but too late for that election. In 2008, I voted in parliamentary Batu Gajah and state Tronoh constituencies respectively.

I am still peeved about this devious administrative action by EC, especially when the culprit could easily get away without being punished. Surely, he or she was under instruction to carry out such criminal act. Charles Santiago and Nurul Izzah took legal actions against EC for various discrepancies, but without success.

As far as voting is concerned, we are all equal in having just one vote for parliament and another for state, whether we are billionaires or paupers. This is the time when politicians will come to you for your support. Even Ah Jib Kor knows he cannot be arrogant during election, particularly this Mother of all GEs.
