What's wrong with meeting Soros?

"Yes, I met him. What's wrong with that? It was just a normal courtesy call between two parties." said PM Najib.

Tun Dr. Mahathir met him when he came to Malaysia. http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/211622
Why? Because he is a moron? Who asked to see who?

According to Tun, George Soros caused Malaysia to lose billions in forex dealings, or were those bettings? He is deemed to have financed the opposition to take over the country from BN. Any pro-opposition or anti-BN organization is likely to be financed by Soros.

So why meet someone who is deemed to be enemy of BN, and by extension, the country?

Is he so great and glamorous that BN leaders wished to be seen with him? Yet the opposition should not in any way be associated with him because he is Jewish and a foreigner and therefore a threat to our national security!

In the case of funding, Umno can receive donations from any source, without having to disclose or explain. First the denial, then the admission, but the money was not for the CM of Sabah but Sabah Umno. By Umno logic, it becomes legit and not corruption!

With the PKFZ case, Tun Dr. Ling was charged for cheating the PM. He told reporters that if Dr. Mahathir thinks he is guilty, then he is guilty. Then PM gave evidence in court, testifying fellow Tun has always been an honest man incapable of cheating. As a layman, I can see Dr. Ling will be cleared of cheating since the alleged victim claimed he was not cheated! How could there be a case when there was no victim? But compared with the Lingam case, Dr. M now has not lost his memory and can be considered a credible witness!

Lingam was well known to be a Mr. Fixit. He was videotaped and alleged to have a conversation with a judge, and his 'Correct, correct, correct' habit and his 'looks like me, sounds like me, but it wasn't me' became an oft-quoted joke. Somehow, he was saved from any charges, probably by Dr. Mahathir's timely amnesia.

Dr. Chua who is now MCA President, was honest and brave enough to admit when he was caught on video with his pants down. His bravado proved to be good enough to win him the top post in MCA. But in politics, once you are tainted, the problem will come back, usually at crucial times, to haunt you. Big brother Umno will use it to control him. Many people believe MCA will never dare to leave BN because of this.

There are too many instances of what is good enough for the goose is not good enough for the gander. Many of us have reached the stage where the only way to avoid listening to excuses is to kick out BN at the next GE. If and when that happens, we get to enjoy at least the first few years of Pakatan leaders having to walk the talk.
