Each time we leave our house unguarded, something like this could happen. Note the freshly cut trunk of this bougainvilla. This poor tree has a history of abuse by this uncouth person.
A few years ago, we found the plant missing! Later it was found near the junction, in front of the Indian temple multi-purpose hall. I took it back and planted at the same spot. With recent happenings, I am now suspecting he was the culprit when it went missing! So far, the plant had been subjected to weedkillers twice on separate occasions, which showed after a few days with dried leaves...
Now, he went a step further with cutting down the plant. Our patience and refrain from acting tit-for-tat has been taken as being weak I suppose. But I am taking the following advice...

ReplyDeleteHe must really hate you a lot. LOL!
Please don't assume I started it. It started years ago when my wife caught his daughter throwing wrappers over the wall to our side of compound. She was told to come over and pick up all the other rubbish. Both parents were at work then and when they knew about it, they lost face I suppose. Since then, rubbish were deliberately thrown to spite us.
ReplyDeleteBe very afraid of bad Karma!
ReplyDeleteTake this as:-
Case 1- The neighbour will suffer in the future for his bad karma. OR
Case 2- We are paying our due for our previous life's bad karma.
Yes. which ever way, just sit back and relax. After the bad karma is gone, a good future will come!
That's why I'm very happy if I'm sick, or somebody wrong me because I'm paying my due for my past karma. Without the bad karma gone, the good one will not come.

ReplyDeleteI would be insane to think that you started this thing with your neighbour.
In such a situation, I can only say that it is likely that your neighbour will not feel good at all every time he actively does something nasty, especially when you don't retaliate.
So sit back and enjoy the whole situation while the guilty party probably squirms when he sees you smiling at him!
I have a similar neighbour but I take comfort in these words of wisdom:
ReplyDelete“Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘It is mine to avenge, I will repay, says the Lord”‘ (Romans 12:19)
This morning, after breakfast, I walked past the oil drum and noticed sharp spikes jutting out next to the oil drum, obviously to prevent vehicle from knocking it. I quickly took out the six 6-inch nails, but it was a mistake because my wife had seen them and wanted to lodge a police report. Anyway, this is further proof of an evil mind at work.
ReplyDeleteBe careful, KS. I think your neighbour has just tipped over the edge from being an unfriendly neighbour to one who intends to do harm. Your wife may be right in wanting to make a police report. Let's just hope he doesn't get angry when he's not successful in harming anyone of you. He may be mentally unsound and do harm one day when all of you are not at home! Set up an electronic eye with a recorder?
ReplyDeleteThanks BH, for your concern and advice. I am surprised you knew about my latest comment! Actually, YB Fong called him about it, and he must have been flattered. As a compromise, he promised to remove the oil drum provided we make sure the branches of our plants do not cross over the wall. He complained about pots at the veg patch being broken by vehicles (could be anyone) and YB said they should not have them there in the first place. Well, if I read him well, he is one with a big ego and needs attention, so a call from a lady MP serves him well. I refused YB's suggestion of a meeting with him. All we wanted is that he remove his stuff, not just the pots, from our sight. I shall post a picture of his surrounding to show how selfish he has been, in case people think I had been too petty. There is plenty of space on his own side to have his veg patch, just that it would spoil the landscape of his villa!
ReplyDeleteWell, KS, all's well that ends well. I am glad that it's one big headache resolved for you.
ReplyDeleteIf YB agrees to take a photo with your neighbour, he'll talk to no end about how he knew YB and was her good friend, with the photo to show!
I was about to say, it has yet to end as the oil drum is still standing. This morning (Feb 15) our part-time cleaner commented that there is still one nail next to the drum. It was so obscure that I had to walk close before I could see it. Again, I pulled it out instead of taking a picture first. So where is the sincerity about removing the drum?
