Tmnet service disruption... anything to do with Umno AGM?

Cannot help thinking being critical of Umno could be the reason why my tmnet internet connection was unavailable since Dec 1. No, that was being presumptuous. But the fact that they have cybertroopers waging a virtual war, denying internet service must be one of the easiest ways to cut out dissemination of criticisms during their conference.

According to TM call centre, there should be no problem in Batu Gajah, yet a friend and I were unable to connect. Don't know about others. The Malay lady who took my call just before 1.00 pm was patient enough to guide me through the settings of my modem which is not supplied by TM, via the browser using the address http://192.168.1.1, but without success. At night, my call was passed to the technical side and a Malay man guided me through setting the IP address and DNS servers, also unsuccessful. I was promised a technician will come within 24 hours. I am still waiting. I vaguely remember being informed by the recorded message that the problem could last 2-3 days.

Anyway, recently I had similar problem and without the technician coming round, service was restored, which gave me the impression TM could allow or deny at will. This could be an effective way by the ruling coalition to control internet access during election campaigns. So it would be wise to have alternative service providers like Digi, Maxis or Celcom.

Dec. 2 evening, called up my friend and he said his internet connection was ok. I knew in a situation like this, it would have been better to have left things alone. What I have done could have upset the earlier correct settings. But to be honest, the settings were upset, so something had to be done... just that I am half-baked where this is concerned, and I tried again and again in order to learn something out of it.

Well, I managed to get connected using the cable instead of wireless, so that I could post this. Isn't this proof that what TM giveth, TM taketh, at will?

My mind is still thinking of a part of Muhyiddin's statement on TV: 'perjuangan Umno adalah demokratik... tanpa discriminasi...' or 'Umno's struggle is democratic... without discrimination...' If I am in the mood, I could list out a long list of blatant discrimination in terms of race, religion, political affiliation, and so on. But wouldn't you get tired after 54 years of the same claim when the leaders were doing otherwise? I also heard a Puteri speaker suggesting that opportunities be given to those present in the general assembly... what else is new?

Incidentally, just read Patrick's post with a long list of discrimination:
