Are you listed among the select 91? (updated)

Out of the 91 persons who will be prevented by court order from taking part in the illegal rally by the outlawed Bersih this Saturday, July 9, 66 are listed under Bersih, 11 under Umno Youth and 14 under Perkasa.

Most of us are not interested in those listed under Umno Youth and Perkasa because they got involved as opportunists out to score brownie points by threatening trouble to prevent a peaceful demonstration.

All the talk about communists and non-Malays in Bersih can easily be dispelled when we check the list of 66 below:

All the top leaders of Pakatan Rakyat are included: PKR: Anwar Ibrahim, Azmin Ali, Tian Chua, Nurul Izzah, Syed Shahir; PAS: Nik Aziz, Hadi Awang, Mohd Sabu, Salahuddin Ayub, Mahfuz Omar, Nizar; DAP: Lim Kit Siang, Teresa Kok, Loke Siew Fook, Lau Weng San; to name some known ones. Leaders of NGOs included Maria Chin Abdullah, Wong Chin Huat, Yap Swee Seng and Ong Boon Keong.

The list of 66 is copied from Malaysiakini, with names shortened and NRIC left out.

However, like Transformers, there's more than meet the eyes... according to Din Merican:

"However, it was evident that although 66 people were listed as BERSIH 2.0 supporters, some of them were clearly either UMNO members or anti-BERSIH.

Among those on the BERSIH 2.0 list are former deputy minister Khalid Yunus, Kulim-Bandar Baharu MP Zulkifli Noordin, Gagasan Melayu Perak president Mohd Hilmi Ismail and national scout chief commissioner Kamaruddin Kachar.

Even PERKASA leaders were listed under BERSIH 2.0 supporters such as Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan and Terengganu commissioners Mohd Noor Nordin Abdullah, Sibri Ismail and Mohd Lukman Muda respectively.

The list has also includes at least one mistake. PERKASA vice-president Zubir Harun was listed twice – in the PERKASA and BERSIH 2.0 list."

Was the inclusion of people who are not Bersih-connected but obviously anti-Bersih due to human error or deliberately meant to misrepresent or create confusion? Not that it is important to us nor surprising any more.
