His Royal Highness, the Sultan of Selangor is not apolitical by accepting Khusrin despite open objections by Selangor Menteri Besar, YAB Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.
There is an inherent difference between Kedaulatan Sultan and Ketuanan Rakyat which makes the former uncomfortable with the latter. If the Sultan is genuinely acting in the interests of his subjects, shouldn't he listen to his own Menteri Besar instead of accepting a Federal appointee?
There were a few instances of the Palace acting against appointees as Menteri Besar in other states which were more serious and probably illegal. Legal opinions seem to point towards the illegality of the appointment of Khusrin by the Public Service Commission instead of the State Service Commission, yet His Royal Highness would rather go along with it. In other words, he would rather upset his own subjects than the PM!
