At the right place and time...

but did not occur to me. Otherwise, could have asked to see if YB Dr. Ramasamy was in his office.

Yesterday morning we went to Selama estate, then lunch, before proceeding to Penang. Cheng ate less than usual so that she could eat Penang laksa. We reached Pulau Tikus at 3.30pm and the coffee shop was closed. Checked out the one a few shops away and the laksa stall was closed except the char kway teow. On the way to the car, I bought a couple of curry puffs for Cheng to try. We were told the Penang laksa at Penang Road (near Komtar) could still be open.

Yes, the laksa and other stalls were still open and we ordered the famous cendol as well, because we were eating in the shop. We normally buy takeaway from the other cendol stall, at a lower price and given more because he appreciates our custom, because usually, there is a crowd at the more popular stall.

We walked over to Komtar and we could feel the difference with the new extension. It was like a breath of fresh air when we entered the building because the air-condition was working well, unlike before when there was no air-condition and the place was run down. We checked out some stainless steel electric kettles at the supermarket but was disappointed because it was out of stock! Then we asked our way to the Kraft shoe shop where a pair of beaded shoes for Nee was supposed to be ready for collection. We were only familiar with the way to the shop from opposite the Chinese temple!

While waiting in the shop, Cheng pointed to me the picture above the entrance, of Chief Minister YAB Lim Guan Eng's autographed picture. Later, on our way out, we passed several signs to Kerajaan Negeri Pinang (or something to that effect), yet I did not think more of it.

It was only later in the evening, at home, that it occurred to me that we could have asked our way to see YB Dr. Ramasamy, the DCM, to see if he was in. We happened to be there at the right place and probably at the right time. Though I was not properly dressed, at least Cheng could say hello and goodbye. Cheng knew Dr. Ramasamy when she arranged with him to give a talk at University of Essex a few years ago. Now he should be too busy with his present position.
