Wedding dinner in Ipoh...

but with the same young musicians who played at my ex-classmate's daughter's event in Kuala Lumpur on November 27! This group must be getting more popular, even by word of mouth.

Last night, I attended a friend's second son's wedding dinner at Hillcity in Ipoh. I was telling my friends about this group which impressed me, especially the lead musician who can play saxophone, clarinet, flute and even er-hu, a traditional Chinese musical instrument. The young lady vocalist seems good too, especially singing old sentimental songs. So you can imagine my surprise when I heard the familiarity of tunes and songs!

As a friend commented, the music seems too clean and he thought the main part of the music is pre-recorded - like those one-man band - vocalist with a keyboard playing minus one tunes complete with lead, rhythm and drums. But with this band, the key lead musician makes a lot of difference, especially with different instruments. The bassist and rhythm guitarist then added to give more substance while the keyboardist can even roll with the touch of his fingers on the keyboard!

In my own opinion, I must say that this musical set-up suits wedding dinners because the loudness can be controlled, unlike a truly live band with powerful amplifiers and drums kit or a karaoke arrangement where all and sundry could go up and sing and the mixer and amp turned full blast.

  5. Sorry Soo, was and still is out of action because of phone line problem.

I don't really know the band members, and it would be better if you could contact Jacky Ng as mentioned earlier.

If you can take jokes, 'do you want me to take you by the hand?'
