Timely reminder...to those who have yet to realize it

The leaders of our nation have repeatedly insulted our intelligence and presumed we are still gullible to overt discrimination in enforcement of our laws. They seem oblivious and impervious to constructive criticisms of double standards in selective prosecution and persecution. Their arrogance in carrying out their duties seems to treat the public with contempt. We have to console ourselves to, 'wait till the next General Elections' while they continue with their highhandedness, thinking our memories are short like before.

I believe the fall of longstanding political parties like in Japan recently, was a result of an accumulation of people's distrust, anger, despair and a multitude of ill feelings over the years of unfairness in administration.

Personally, I have sided the opposition since Dr. Tan Chee Khoon's days, angered by the loss of licences by those who provided transport to them, for instance. I could not believe it when Lim Guan Eng had to be jailed for voicing out for a young Malay girl. Anwar's black eye assault which was almost fatal was despair - if a former DPM could be assaulted behind closed doors, what hope have the rest of us lesser mortals? Then came the increasing number of suspicious deaths in police custody with no one found culpable. Teoh Beng Hock's fall to death must have been the last straw for many people who have yet to make up their minds.

This leaves us with the question, 'Is there law and order in our country?'
